Must I use spray oil on nonstick cookware if the recipe says to grease the pan?
I always use nonstick spray and I have had no problems. I rarely use grease for anything that just needs a little coating.

No. Although it depends on what method of cooking you are using. If you are sauteing or baking, you may still wish to use it to make the pan easier to clean. Just use less oil than you normally would use.

Maybe the woman above put her metal pan in the microwave!!
Yes, you can use 'Pam' just not too much or the cake (for example) will be a little greasy. If you don't, you might not get your food out in one piece. Good Luck.

Non-stick cookware can still get food stuck to it. A little non-stick spray does help.

Actually with a non stick pan no you dont. The food won't stick if the pan is properly made. However, spraying on oil or lightly greasing or buttering the pan aids in heat transfer to the product you are cooking and will prevent burning or drying of the surface of the "stuff" like chops or fish or yak, or whatever!

Yes, NEVER heat a nonstick pan (the kind coated with SilverStone or Teflon coating) Even they are touted as NonStick, use a product such as Pam (in the baking aisle of your grocery store) everytime you use your skillet. If you heat the pan with NOTHING in it, a chemical reaction occurs and can leach out some of the coating to the food……..Just keep a can of Pam handy for those times……Happy Cooking!!!!
